Historical town with beautiful view, 210 km from Aberdeen, 259 km from Inverness. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Indoor aquatic centre, fitness centre. A cosmopolitan and lively city, full of culture, with impressive architecture and a history spanning more than 2000 years. Arts festival during August.
Places to visit include: Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Zoo, Royal Museum of Scotland, St Giles Cathedral, Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre, Royal Botanic Gardens. Please note Edinburgh is not a car friendly city, all main attractions are walking distance from each other and bus services are very good. Debit cards are often not accepted without proof of address (utility bills), therefore credit cards are recommended for car hire and other services.
