This cosy little apartment in an old Dalmatian stone house is situated in the centre of Makarska, in a quiet street. It can accommodate up to 5 people in two bedrooms. It has a kitchen with the dining room, a bathroom and a nice terrace. It is equipped with the air-conditioning, satellite TV, the microwave oven and the washing machine.
The seafront and the beach are only about 5 minutes away. The fruit and vegetable market is also very near as well as the town centre with the main square, the restaurants and cafes. The apartment has a parking place.
Those of you who are keen on sports and leisure activities may enjoy numerous recreational facilities. There is a lovely tennis camp on the west side, in a pine forest and very near the beach. It has nine outdoor clay courts and two indoor ones. The camp warmly welcomes tennis players who participate in some of the tennis tournaments which are held there every year.
Another sports and leisure centre on the east side provides recreational facilities for football, rugby (very popular in Makarska) athletics, tennis (two clay courts), volleyball and handball. A beautiful new sports hall has just been opened. In addition to an Olympic swimming pool, it also offers a lot of other facilities for all kinds of sports.
You can also enjoy fine 45-minute coastal walks to the neighbouring villages of Tuèepi (to the east) and Krvavica (to the west). For those of you who are more adventurous, there isBiokovo Mountain which towers above Makarska and makes a splendid backdrop to the town itself.
Hiking trails are well-marked and take you to the peaks of the mountain. Once you are up there you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea and the islands and soak up the beauty of the scenery.
Many water sports are worth mentioning: water skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, diving, snorkelling, etc. I must not forget white water rafting on the river Cetina.
