Casa Cristina is located along a quiet, surfaced track and sits in approximately 2000 sq.ms of sloping land with olive, almond and fig trees and an old pigsty. The main feature of the totally private garden courtyard is the 8 x 4 metre swimming pool and sun terrace with loungers. The pool is 1.4 metres deep overall, ideal for swimming, playing games or just cooling off. The views are of the peaceful valley and the olive groves beyond. To the side of the house, leading from the pool terrace, is a large covered area for al fresco dining, a gas BBQ, an outside drinks fridge and the table-tennis table.
Ground Floor:
Entering the double doors from the courtyard into the hallway you have two spacious bedrooms either side, both with pool view.
Continuing on from the hallway you enter the dining room. This is one of the oldest parts of the house (possibly around 400 years)with exposed stone wall, bread oven and incredible ceiling beams. The dining table seats eight people comfortably and there is a wood-burner for those chilly winter evenings.
Leading off the dining room is the kitchen and separate utility room. The large rustic kitchen is equipped for all your catering requirements. There is a large fridge/freezer, oven and 5-ring hob, microwave, two toasters and a liquidiser plus of course all the crockery, glasses, cutlery and kitchen utensils you are likely to need. The utility room has more kitchen equipment, washing machine, ironing board and iron.
The back door from the kitchen takes you out onto the lower back terrace, furnished with a wooden bench and a small table and chairs. Ideal for peace and quiet away from the pool and other activities, with wonderful views down the valley to the hills of Las Chozas beyond.
The ground floor bathroom is situated to the left of the dining room.
First Floor:
The original typically steep Spanish stairs with low beams, situated between the bathroom and dining room, lead up to the centre of the sitting room splitting it into two areas. The largest of these has two comfortable sofas, a coffee table, satellite television, video, hi-fi and a wood-burner. The smaller area has a wicker sofa, somewhere to curl up and read any of the 200 plus books provided. There are also various games and videos for all ages.
At the top of the stairs, through the low archway are doors to the second bathroom and roof terrace. The bathroom has a large shower, w.c and wash-hand basin and a view out across the valley, and yet more ancient beams. The bamboo and grapevine covered roof terrace has a small table and 4 chairs with plenty of space for a lounger or two if you want to spend a little “me” time with a book and a glass of wine, and of course the views are superb.
From the sitting room to the front of the house is a small lobby with two further bedrooms leading off. Both bedrooms look out over the pool.
All bedrooms have portable electric fans.
