In the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park in the Alto Minho region can be found Cêrca dos Passais, an idyllic tourism venture made up of four traditional highland houses, where the authentic nature and history of the buildings blends with modernity, comfort and wellbeing.
Entre Ambos-os-Rios is the Minho village, in the district of Ponte da Barca, where this complex of houses is located. The region offers unique conditions for a few days of peace and quiet in touch with nature, local people and gastronomy from the area.

“Entre Ambos-os-Rios, our village, is the place that will give you a friendly welcome and share with you its cultures and traditions. Its precise location is on the banks of the Tamente and Froufe rivers, which flow into the poetic and crystal-clear River Lima. Close by are the Alto do Lindoso and Touvêdo dams, both of vital economic interest to Portugal.
One great thing about Cêrca dos Passais is that it is close to the villages of Germil and Ermida and their ancient community traditions. Visitors can live alongside the rich ethnography of the Minho region, which can be observed in Ponte de Lima – the oldest town in Portugal, and in Soajo, in the neighbouring district of Arcos de Valdevez.
In Alto Minho, every corner tells us of history, as is the case in the main town of the region to which Cêrca de Passais belongs: Ponte da Barca. Here, monuments show us glimpses of the past and present. Examples are the Pelourinho monument, the Old Marketplace, the 15th Century parish church and the renowned late medieval bridge.
