This is a typical Alentejo country house, with thick whitewashed walls, a large chimney and windows and doors trimmed in blue, according to the local tradition. Its oldest part dates from the 18th century. In 1997 and 2003 it was entirely rebuilt, according to its original plan and nowadays it offers all the facilities of a modern and comfortable home
The house stands in a grass plot of about 500 m2, with some of the trees which grow in this southern region: olive, orange, fig, palm and lemon trees and some aromatic plants like coriander and rosemary .
At Arraiolos there are several good restaurants where you can taste the Alentejo cuisine. It stands in heart of the Wine Route so you can visit wineries and vineyards and taste Alentelo wines. Evora, A UNESCO World heritage Site stands 23 Kms away. Montemor-o-Novo is also an interesting town with a medieval castle from which one can enjoy a magnificent view of the Alentejo landscape.
