The group included two couples in their 30's. The owner set up a meeting place prior to check in. He met us at the local grocery store and walked around with us while we purchased groceries. We then followed him to the property. The house is in the mountains so the roads were steep and narrow but following him made it easy. We did drive these roads at night but it may make some people uncomfortable. The final road to the house is a private driveway. It made us feel secure. The owner stays on property and can see anybody coming up the road (it is a private road so no one should be on it). The house is very nice. It is modern but maintains a rustic feel. You can open up all of the doors and windows to make the house feel completely outdoors. The doors and windows are wooden shutters and do not have screens. This was not a problem for us. Once the doors were open it was the most amazing view. You can see the entire coast and the cities down below. We can even see the Cabo Rojo lighthouse at night. The view from the pool area is why we chose this house. We woke up every morning (rooster alarms), made coffee and sat on the pool deck and took in the natural beauty of the island. We opened all of the windows and allowed the fresh air to flow through the house. There is no a/c or heat but neither were needed. the breeze was fantastic and if it got too cool we put on a long sleeve shirt. We drove all over the western part of the island. All within 2 hours so the house was moderately convenient. The owner was very accommodating. He or his workers were always available. He called every night to make sure we were ok and not lost if he did not see us come up the driveway. He also provided directions when needed. If you are looking for a luxurious, pampered vacation this is probably not the house for you. Since it is in the mountains, you will see birds, bugs and other wildlife, sometimes in the house (remember the house can be completely opened to the outdoors). That is the rustic part of this house. Overall, we enjoyed the stay. The view, the breeze and the peace and tranquility is what we enjoyed the most.

The home is beautiful and offers just the right amount of privacy but within reach of wonderful areas of southwest PR. The hilltop view cannot be beat!

The house is located at the top of the hill so the view is gorgeous. Just standing there in front of the pool makes you feel like a super-star spending quality time with family. The architecture follows the classical style of the caribbean. The house has been decorated with taste, all furnitures are high-end, nothing is cheap and... José is really so nice: he picked-up us at the exit of the high-way to show the path and helped me find fresh fish (with the heads) and alive crayfish I could cook myself on the BBQ (ok, I'm french) ! We found that San-German is a lovely classical town and there are many things to do nearby, like snorkeling at La Parguera, etc...

We loved staying in this house - we've rented in many other parts of Puerto Rico and this is our new favorite. The views are so amazing. The pool could not be better situated. The whole place is stunning. The house is well kept, very clean, and comfortable. The owner lives nearby and is incredibly kind - our stay included Thanksgiving and Mario came by to bring us turkey and sides from his own family's meal (it was delicious Mario! Thank you so much). We also cooked in the house without any issue and used the grill. Great home! The south west of the island has some of the best beaches and they are all nearby. (Mario had coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc in the garage for us to use too.) La Parguera is only 30 minutes or so away. You can rent a boat and visit mangrove cays. There's also Cabo Rojo and Boqueron nearby as well. Excellent restaurants in Boqueron and we even found a great place near the house in San German - Mike's Steakhouse. Really amazing house and a unique experience.

It's best to arrive before dark as the house would be hard to find the first time without help. It's location at the top of a mountain is very private, and there is a mango tree just outside. The house layout is convenient, the bathrooms and kitchen are great and very clean. We loved the porch, the pool, and the grassy areas. I can't imagine another house with a more incredible location for viewing sunsets. The only problem we had is that there are no screens in the windows so the house got buggy at night if we had lights on in the evening. The owner is very nice and helpful. There is a grocery store within 10 minutes' drive.

It's a little hard to find and about 10-15 minutes out of San German. But, at the top of a mountain, it commands incredible views of southwest PR. We brought two boys (10 and 7) and had a great week there. The boys played in the small pool every morning and we went on day trips every afternoon. Mom and Dad relaxed by the pool every evening. Mario was helpful. It's pretty remote here, but there are many interesting places within a 30 minute drive. The house itself was perfect for our needs. Our little boy made good friends with the neighbor's horse.
