Olive Cottage is a beautiful old house that has been in keeping with the traditional Kefalonian style. It comprises of 2 bedrooms (2 double beds) with one separate bathroom, open kitchen with living room and dining area. The sofa in the living room converts to a double bed which can sleep up to 6 persons. The stone cottage has a perfect view towards the island of Odyssea, well known Ithaka. It is located among beautiful plants and olive trees, where you can have your breakfast or dinner, relax and be as isolated as you want. The cottage is situated outside famous Fiskardo in Matsoukata Village, in a very peaceful location full of green and magical landscapes that will blow your mind away. Matsoukata is a traditional village within the hills above the Venetian harbour of Fiscardo on the north east coast of Kefalonia. The village setting is amongst olive groves and cypress trees, and perfectly placed to explore the coves, bays, isolated beaches, and the ruins of Kefalonia before the earthquake of 1953 that destroyed the whole island except Fiscardo. Only 1.5km from the cottage is tranquil Foki beach, an emerald gulf with crystal waters and fantastic view to Ithaka, surrounded by a cypress forest as well as olive trees which reach the pebbled beach, the most beautiful beach in the island for those that know better the island better as the locals say. Olive cottage is a short distance to Fiscardo where known celebrities visit each year with their yachts.
Fiscardo is the main tourist destination in Kefalonia, mostly because of its natural and safe harbour (email: hidden)racts every year hundreds of sailing boats and yachts, but also for its perfectly intact nature. Other beaches around by are, Emblisi beach, close to Fiscardo (2 km) famous rocky beach with cypresses and olive trees coming up to the seashore. The water is crystal clear and the seabed is shallow, covered with sand. Myrtos Beach, the most famous post card beach in Kefalonia (25 km-20 min) earns a blue flag every year and it is in the top ten beaches in Europe. Myrtos Beach is known for the contrast from the white pebbles and shades of blue that the currents create in the sea, with its dark green area. Assos beach and village is a small traditional fishing village 20 km from the cottage mostly known of its Venetian castle that was built in 1585 where you can still visit today and see the amazing view including the house of the Venetian chief, the military buildings and St Marcos Church.
