In an original building from the 70’s, work of Ricardo Arjona, National Architecture Award-winner, under a glass dome that presides on the spiral staircase, one can find Setenta y 1 (Seventy 1). A 60 m2 loft where past and present go hand by hand to give us an updated version of our most recent history. When walking in, one is faced with an open space, bathing in the sun light coming in from the large living-room windows. A colourful and fully equipped kitchen leads up to the dining area that takes us back to the 70’s thanks to its striking round table of steel and glass straight from that decade, the flashy orange of the Panton chairs and the curved standard lamp.
The comfortable velvet sofa in front of the large windows is the most noteworthy piece in the living-room, while right behind it the Japanese screens give a dream-like independence to the bedroom area. The bedroom has a large built-in closet and a 160x190 cm bed with a remarkable headboard, an original 70’s piece. The apartment is completed with a grey-toned spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi. The view Setenta y 1 offers also seems out of this time. This very central street is surprisingly peaceful and quiet and the greenery of the plants and gardens of the adjoining buildings only magnifies this feeling. A shelter with a retro feel turned into the most contemporary apartment.
