We booked the two bed apartment for a week during the October holidays which was right at the end of the season. We arrived at midnight and Manolis was waiting for the transfer bus and gave us a very warm welcome. Its a five minute walk from an absolutely fantastic beach. Having travelled around much of the island we struggled to find a better beach. The apartment was great and quiet and we ate outside most for the time. I can also highly recommend the Kastro restaurant next door. Panormos is a great place to stay. There are a couple of car hire places. We used "Best car hire". Tell Manolis you need a car to ensure you get a good rate. The village is great and fairly quite at the time of year we were there.

This hotel is a traditional Greek hotel and I can highly recommend it, owner is a warm person and treat you in traditional Greek friendly manor. The hotel is over the tavern and I can recommend the food there as well.

My boyfriend and i just ate at manolis taverna, unfortunately we dont stay at the hotel. the food was very very good and everything was fresh! the service was exelent as 7******* hotels. friendly lovely and polite family all together! and 10 points for the clenness of the toilets!! TOP!!!!!!!! and many gratings from hamburg!!!

We had a studio apartment and loved it. It was very clean and had all the amenities we needed in the kitchen, though we cooked only breakfast because of the excellent taverna downstairs where we had dinner every night. The WiFi worked great, and the parking area was especially generous--off the street with lots of room. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony/terrace overlooking the restaurant and the town, with a view of the sea. We'd sit out there and send e-mails to family about all we'd seen during the day and the beautiful view we had at that moment. Manolis, the host, is terrific. His English is wonderful, and he is energetic and committed to having everything just right for his guests. We felt as if we had almost-family in Crete.

Great place, fantastic welcome. Manolis is the best kind of host. The beach is just a stroll away. We only stayed one night but plan on coming back already, apparently the restaurant is the best in the village!

I have been in Kastro at the end of september . Stayed here with my girlfriend in a really nice appartement, very clean, accomodated with everything you need. The people running this appartements are just awesome, they really try to make your stay as best as it can get. We certainly go back and want to thank especially Manolis (the owner) for beeing an outstanding host.

Arrived late to a very warm welcome from Manolis who had also arranged our transport from the airport. Accommodation, a two bed appartment, was very comfortable with a kingsize bed in the main bedroom. We had breakfast on a patio overlooking the sea every morning before strolling into the village or making for the beach. The restaurant is excellent! Probably one of, if not the, best in the village. I particularly liked the lamb chops. This estabishment is run by a very friendly family who try and succeed in making your stay here a holiday to remember. If we decide to return to Panormos the Kastro will probably be our first choice. Having holidayed in Panormos five times now,staying in different establishments each time,I can honestly say that this was the best.

My friend and I booked to stay here quite at the last minute. We were very happy with our choice. On late evening arrival we were warmly greeted by Manolis and his family. We had asked for twin beds in the studio apartment and were delighted to be shown into "gardinia' a spacious and well equipped one bed apartment. Our welcome that first evening extended into superb food and drink and we immediately knew that our weeks stay here would be perfect. We are at the taverna almost every evening as this is Greek food at its best served in a delightful atmosphere. The moussaka is the best I have ever eaten and I have sampled many! And my friend will no doubt say the same about the lamb chops! If you are looking to stay in a quiet Cretan village with beautiful small beeches and great food this is perfect place to stay. My family ate here three times during our two week stay in Panormo. The food was very tasty and the moussaka was one of the best we'd tried throughout our stay. The man who owned it was very friendly and welcoming and the old man who came to say hello was very nice!

That's what we call Greek hospitality...

Don't hesitate to try the excellent food and service in family's traditional restaurant. Just try it, and I'm wondering if you would like to go to other places...

Food was very very very very good, my partner and I enjoyed every bit. Great service and lovely traditional ambient. Kastro Tavern is must visit. We found it through Cretan Cusine site on our way to Heraklio and back home, and stoped to have a launch. We'll come again for sure, probably bring friends too.
