Challan Hall Mews is a country house situated in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of Silverdale and Arnside. The location is well known for its nature, wildlife and its breath-taking views. This can all be captured from the home's large peaceful balcony which overlooks Lake Hawes Water and plenty of picturesque woodlands and hilltops.
Just next to Challan Hall is a pathway through a nature reserve to the beautiful Hawes water, which leads on to the nature reserve of Gait Barrows. Here both rare butterflies and wild flowers are a speciality along with very good bird watching. Within walking distance is the R.S.P.B. bird reserve, often featured on television for its extensive variety of wild life.
In addition to the many nature reserves and walks surrounding the property there are plenty of local attractions including Arnside, Morecambe Bay, Silverdale Gold Club and numerous rural villages to visit including Kirby Lonsdale. Not far away are the historic city of Lancaster and the town of Kendal, gateway to the lakes. The Lake District National park is within easy reach and the Yorkshire dales can be visited as a day trip.
The area is an ideal rural retreat where you can get away from it all, just relax on the balcony and take in the views over a glass of wine, take in the silence at night apart from the hooting of the owls and be amazed at the star scape which appears overhead. For the more energetic you can walk through the woodlands and diverse landscapes available on your doorstep or cycle along the country lanes. If you wish to explore further afield you can also use this as a base to discover the Lake District or the Yorkshire dales.
