Villa Aria is a recently constructed property which has been designed in a traditional style. The materials used are those of a bygone era, wood and stone being so good at maintaining a perfect temperature whatever the time of the year. The decoration adds colour to the starkness of the stone and the result is one of neo-classical luxury. There are beautiful pieces of furniture and many paintings from local and non-local artists which make the interior unique. The neutral marble floor allows the earthy colours of the house to stand out and the furniture is of a very high quality as one would expect from a property of such distinction. The accommodation is divided between a main house and two separate guest suites. The main house comprises of a living room and dining room with a separate kitchen and guest WC. There are large French windows which lead from the living room onto a large terrace. The kitchen also has access to this large outside space and the terrace benefits from wonderful views. There are various comfortable areas to sit and while away the hours whilst sipping an ouzo and nibbling on a freshly prepared mezze.
Two double bedrooms are located on the upper level of the house, each with its own bathroom and private terrace. Below the main house are two guest suites with double beds and en-suite facilities. At the lower level of the house is a private swimming pool, surrounded by a well equipped terrace with outdoor furniture and large seating areas. Some of which are covered, giving necessary shade from the heat of the summer sun. Villa Aria is very well equipped for entertaining with a modern kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The property also benefits from Satellite TV, DVD player and WIFI.
Villa Aria enjoys a unique location that enables you to have an almost panoramic view of the island looking out across some of the finer mansions on the island, over the town to the harbour below. It is a ten minute walk to the centre of Hydra town where the shops, supermarkets, restaurants, tavernas and bars are located. The walk from the villa to the harbour is easy. There are relatively few steps to climb which is a rarity on this island full of hills.
The traditional architecture, absence of vehicles, hospitality of the locals, sophisticated nightlife and general artistic flavour throughout the island contribute to the popularity and the incredible charm of Hydra.
