Neudorf
Neudorf (literally, new village), formerly on the outskirts of Strasbourg, is now considered part of the city. A thriving centre for local shops, it is also well-known for its theatre, La Scala, originally built in the 1930s as a cinema but recently converted into a theatre and brasserie restaurant. Neudorf is also known for its lively covered market and media library around the market square. Further towards the city centre, the UGC cinema complex, André Malraux media library, City Dance Centre (Maison de la Danse), landscaped gardens at the Place de l’Etoile, and quayside promenade all contribute to the life of the district.
