Key Features
Casa da Bezerra is located close to the lively village of Lagares da Beira. The house in unique being partly built into a huge rock, sensitively renovated and retaining its original character. Casa da Bezerro is totally off grid, solar energy provides power and the water supply comes from an underground bore hole, we offer modern comforts with low carbon use. The toiletries provided are completely chemical free and made in-house. We supply seasonal fresh fruit & vegetables from our garden as well as free range eggs.
Sheets & indoor bath towels are provided and a high chair and cot can also be booked at no extra cost. Well behaved pets are welcome.

Casa Da Bezerra - The Calf House
A cozy and private granite cottage situated in a quiet valley with stunning mountain views and a lovely river. We are surrounded by woodland and glorious countryside.
Casa da Bezerro is totally off grid, we use solar energy to power the house and the cool, granite filtered water supply comes from our own bore hole deep underground. We do have plenty of modern features, a beautiful up-to-date bathroom with gorgeous hand made soaps and toiletries and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need.
Casa da Bezerro sleeps 4 comfortably in 2 bedrooms (with the possibility for 2 more on a sofa bed), it has an open plan living room and kitchen as well as a beautiful wrap-round roofed terrace for outside living in all weathers, the house and terrace have fabulous views over the gardens and farm to the stunning Serra da Estrella mountains.
The Casa & its history
Quinta do Cobral is a traditional Portuguese farm which has been slowly and carefully renovated using traditional materials. Its a place of wide open views and warm luxurious interiors, a place to embrace the rhythm and nature of the changing seasons throughout the whole year. How you do that is up to you. Curl up in front of the cozy wood burner in mid winter or stretch out in the sun by the splash pool in summer. Stroll barefoot down to the river for a paddle or stride out into the wilderness to discover another fabulous walk. Help with our growing collection of animals or get creative and crafty in the studio - all are possible here.............

Whether you hike, ride, or bike or simply want to sit still and relax Casa da Bezerra can cater for all. We offer you high quality, luxurious self catering accommodation indoors as well as a whole feast of outdoor experiences and places to visit. Almost all this is available all year round too!
KIDS
Kids LOVE our quinta, its exciting with lots of great places to explore. We have animals, forests, a river, a pool and the chance to try out new craft activities. There are also lots of great activities available close by.
THINGS TO DO
Whether its gentle walking and swimming, fast and furious adventure sports or something inbetween there is so much to choose from. This area is packed full of opportunities for all ages and abilities.

Step back in time and discover the history of our area or experience the lively "here and now" at a vibrant street market. We have an abundance of museums, historical sites, lovely towns and cities and the natural landscape of the Serra da Estrella mountains and its villages to explore.
FOOD
Vineyards and olive groves are everywhere, cheese, wonderful bread and sausages too. So whether you want a simple picnic or a luxury 5 course meal there is a lot of choice.

The Atlantic coast is only 1.5 hours drive from us and it stunning, known as the silver coast it has fine white sand and great surfing. There are golf courses on the coast too. The Serra da Estrella mountain range (the highest mountain range in Portugal ) is visible from the house and the summit and ski resort is less than 40 minutes drive.

The area surrounding our Quinta is wonderfully diverse and beautiful, the river Cobral forms part of our boundary and is a great place for walking, birdwatching and paddling around. The countryside is mainly woodland with beautiful open valleys with incredible granite rock formations perfect for scrambling around, with some suitable for bouldering. There are hundreds of tracks and walking is really accessible.

The hosts are extremely attentive and available. The house was comfortable and clean. The surrounding area is beautiful. Definitely a place to return to on the next trip to the Sierra.

The ecological consciousness that exists in the Quinta that is self-sustaining and promotes recycling and "green thinking"; Breakfast with homemade products made on the farm (jams, olive oil, etc ...); Surrounding space green and wide, with a river close by and much to wander and discover; The farm animals (there are dogs, cats, goats and chickens); The comfort of the house (it has a wood burning stove that keeps the house warm at night); The sympathy of the owners of the farmhouse, always very concerned with our well-being; It was not only a stay, it was an experience, I highly recommend it!

Absolutely beautiful cottage, lovingly designed and decorated - super cozy, spacious, luxurious and with many lovely little details, and everything runs of solar power! The location is amazing, a beautiful and tranquil little valley with a river at the bottom, but still in walking distance to the village, and lots of lovely walks around the area. We really enjoyed watching the goats from the terrace. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful, and provided us with lots of tips and advice for our trip, and made us feel right at home. Thank you so much for all your help!

Ishbel and Rick were fantastic hosts, always available to answer questions and give tips for day trips. The Casa da Bezerra was a really nice place to relax, beautifully decorated, very clean, with a fully equipped kitchen and a lovely porch. We received a complimentary breakfast for our first morning and joined our hosts for a lovely dinner one night. We would definitely recommend staying at Casa da Bezerra.

The house and the hosts are gourgeos. We were travelling with teens and they really enjoyed it. River beaches to enjoy very near the house and mountains just half an hour drive. The surroundings of the house are lovely and we really really liked it. Fantastic hosts, thank you very much for such a nice time.

My experience at casa da bezerra was wonderful! I loved everything from the site, the House and the people who welcomed us as well. It was the first time I did something with my boyfriend and couldn't have chosen better. The hosts are super friendly, very accessible, leave anyone comfortable. The House is very cozy, very nice and clean. It's a great place for those who want to rest your head, body and mind. Stay on a farm in the "middle of nowhere" which is great, but is close to everything. There's a river and some beautiful waterfalls. I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience, I can only thank to Ishbel and Richard for everything.

The house can sleep an additional two people on the sofa bed downstairs, we charge an additional €15 per night for this.
Please do not arrive before 4pm on the day of your booking and please leave before 11am. Timing on winter bookings can be flexible subject to our approval.

Cancelation Policy
|
|
All applicants are advised to take out personal holiday cancellation insurance.
Once your booking is confirmed i.e. the non-refundable deposit has been paid and the booking has been accepted, the hirer is responsible for the total cost
of the holiday as shown on the invoice.
To secure your booking a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost of your booking is required.
For bookings made less than 4 weeks before your arrival the total amount is payable on booking.
IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL
If the cancellation is more than 8 weeks before your arrival and the balance has not been paid the deposit can be used to secure another booking taken
at a different available date in the year. If this is not possible we will make every effort to resell your dates and will refund your deposit if this happens. If
we do not resell the dates and you do not wish to come at a different time the deposit will be retained by Quinta do Cobral.
While every effort will be made to avoid them, booking errors made by Quinta do Cobral will not in any circumstances be compensated for. Quinta do
Cobrals liability will be limited to the return, in full, of any monies paid.
