The Space
You are important to us! I love to try to meet your needs, whatever they may be. I hope to maximize your Alaskan experience. Let me know what your needs are, and I will do everything I can to meet them. Also, let me know if you want excursion and dining suggestions. And if you want I can even tell you Alaska stories.
ABOUT BREAKFAST~~
Breakfast includes my local wild fresh-picked berries from Hatcher's Pass, my yard, and throughout the valley. I often make the famous Alaska Sourdough Pancakes with a fifty-year-old starter from a real "sourdough" who lived off the land in (Website hidden by Airbnb) Alaska. I try to use as many organic foods as possible, grind my grain, and use what I can from my small garden. Guests who are gluten-free, or have food allergies can usually be accommodated. I recycle and compost... I often leave a bowl on the counter for compost materials and a bin for recyclables.
ABOUT FISHING~~
Seymour Lake is considered the absolute best rainbow trout fishing lake in the area because it is known for its trophy-sized catches. They aren't easy... that's why they get so big and are so exciting to fish. Ask me questions and I can fill you in on details on how to try to catch one.
Especially in June, consider taking just a little time to take a very quick jaunt around the rock garden with its many native Alaskan perennials. Many were harvested from the tops of mountains... some from the Denali area. Also, consider making time to enjoy some time on the water. Many guests are disappointed they didn't stay longer to take time to enjoy themselves here.
Guest Access
Your room is upstairs. A quaint third upper-level visiting room is complete with mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishes, cutlery, games, and picnic table. The common areas are downstairs and include a half bath, living room, kitchen, and dining area. Outdoors there is a large deck, large dock, front yard, lawn, fire pit, BBQ, a beautiful garden, and of course, the lake! We will also have a canoe, life jackets, and fishing poles available.
If your food is greater than what can fit in your mini-fridge, I have plenty of extra space to store your foods that need to be kept cool. Let me know; I can accommodate you.
We have a kitty cat. He is a pretty, handsome Maincoon named Stir-fry (We will explain when you get here- if interested). Allergies have not been a problem with our guests who are allergic. We vacuum (a lot!), groom him regularly, filter the air, have leather couches, and keep him out of your room
