Key Features
Pura Vida has four contemporary rooms that vary in size and decor.
‘La Familia, ‘El Studio’ and ‘La Vista’ are located in the main building. ‘El Higo has its own fig tree and is located separately, buy the pool.
Each room has its own bathroom with shower. All rooms have air conditioning and we provide shower gel, hand soap and shampoo. There is free WiFi in all rooms and all over the premises.
It is possible to add an extra bed in ‘El Higo´ and ‘La Vista’ for an extra cost.
Towels are provided, also for the pool area, and each room has a hair dryer. If you plan excursion to the coast or to the lake, we ask guests to bring their own towels.
DINING
Breakfast
Breakfast is served on the downstairs terrass with fantastic views. Rainy or colder days we serve it inside, still with the same brethtaking view.
Served at your table a is variety of bread, coffee or tea, freshly squeezed orange juice ( during season from our own trees), something sweet ( croissant or Swedish cinnamon roll, sometimes a waffle) a selection of cheeses and salamis, yogurt with home made granola, various jams and typical Andalusian grated tomato with olive oil, and more. We can also make scrambled eggs on request or just a boiled egg if you prefer. Our ambition is to serves as many home made and organic products as possible. And if not home made preferably as locally produced as possible.
Dinner
For those of you who enjoy fresh, tasty ingredients and like to try something different you can join us two to three nights a week for a four-course dinner. The menu is usually Mediterranean but also Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine or a cozy barbecue evening is possible.
We try to vary the menu with fish, seafood, poultry and red meat as much as possible. We also do vegetarian or vegan alternatives – just let us know

Welcome to very Beautiful Casa Pura Vida
Casa Pura Vida is a B & B in the heart of Andalucía for those who love the peace & quiet, culture and good food.
Discover the real Spain from our little haven of peace and culinary delight. Enjoy the endless views from one of the terraces or beside the pool. Casa Pura Vida has four spacious, contemporary rooms, each with its own bathroom.
The house is located in a small village with a tapas bar just across the street. But once you open the door and step on to the patio you’ll only see thousands of olive trees and relax completely.
For those of you that like to be surprised and culinary pampered, join us 2-3 nights a week for a 4-course dinner. Lasse is a trained chef and we both enjoy cooking as well as eating good food. The BBQ is also lit regularly for a pleasant evening with a glass of wine or a beer.
The B & B is very centrally located in Andalucía. Granada, Cordoba and Malaga are within an hour’s drive, Seville and Ronda 1.5h. It is also ideal for great day trips with Antequera and Archidona both under 30 minutes away. There are a number of charming whitewashed villages and towns nearby such Iznajar or Priego de Cordoba. Hikers and nature lovers are well catered for as well with the National Park of El Torcal and Lake Iznajar nearby.
You can relax by the pool, but there is also a ‘jeu de boule’ area and several terraces for relaxation. Books in English, Dutch and Swedish as well as games are also available. We also have a number of travel and hiking guides available for our guests. But of course, doing nothing is definitely a great option as well!

In Andalusia you will find everything which stereotypically makes you think of Spain: white villages, flamenco, beaches, cave houses, fiestas, processions, tapas, sherry, etc. But also art, nature and a relaxed lifestyle are part of the larger picture.
Pura Vida is located in a unique setting. Right in the middle of a small village, La Parrilla (part of Villanueva de Algaidas ) in the province of Malaga. Opposite to the B&B is an authentic bar where you can eat tapas for lunch, but once you return through our door you immediately experience tranquility thanks to the endless views of the hills filled with olive trees.
The house is more than 100 years old, a farmhouse (cortijo) which has been tastefully restored. It is built into the hillside and has several terraces ( both sunny and shady ), a refreshing swimming pool (heated from April to October) and 4 comfortable rooms.
The area is known for its olive oil , 90% of the population lives on olive cultivation. In La Parrilla it is as if time has stood still. Everyone knows everybody, the men go to the bar with their horses, dogs or tractors. The four -legged friends are waiting faithfully at the door while their owners stop the clock for a delicious espresso with an anis licour, a few tapas and to exchange the latest news. Children play all day outside and in the evening, sat on their folding chairs outside their doors, the women gossip and enjoy the cool breeze.
You can find all this only an hour ‘s drive from Malaga Airport (78 km), but also one hour away from Granada and the magnificent Alhambra, Cordoba with its old Jewish quarter and Mezquita and the stunning city of Ronda.
Also nature lovers and bird watchers can explore. The Parque Natural El Torcal, the impressive Garganta del Chorro, beautiful Lake Iznajar, flamingoes in Fuente del Piedra and many other places can be found nearby. Or for the more adventurous white water rafting or quad biking!

Of course, you can opt for a day by the pool and laze in the sun or in the shade with a book. We have table tennis, ‘jeu de boule’, games and travel guides to enjoy. You can certainly keep yourself occupied in our B & B, but it would be a shame if you didn’t explore our beautiful region a little bit. The possibilities are endless and there is definitely something here for everyone …
We are in the heart of Andalusia, and are therefore ideally located for day-trips to the major cultural cities in the area such as Granada, Cordoba, Malaga and Seville, but the nearer towns or villages like Archidona and Antequera and Iznajar are also worth a visit and have a great cultural and historical richness.
Andalucia has an extensive network of more than 80 nature reserves, representing approximately 18% of the region. Near our B & B are both Lake Iznajar, with its incredible vistas and nature walks, the mountainous El Torcal with its exceptional carstic rock formations and wildlife are definitely worth a visit. It is a must for bird watchers. Furthermore, you can make beautiful walks in our neighbourhood, like following a mountain stream to a waterfall or one of the other clever marked trails to follow. Hiking guides are at your disposal in the B&B.
Another option is to go bird watching. A day or half day trip can be organized with an English speaking local expert. Andalusia has a very large bird life and very often there are circling eagles to be spotted from our garden.
El Caminito del Rey (The King’s pathway) is a walkway, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Málaga. The walkway had fallen into disrepair and was partially closed for over a decade. After four years of extensive repairs and renovations, the walkway re-opened in 2015. It has been known in the past as the “world’s most dangerous walkway” following five deaths in 1999 and 2000. It is now entirely safe and open to anyone with a reasonable head for heights.
The path hangs 100m above the river Guadalhorce and snakes around the cliffs, affording truly breathtaking views at every turn. The boardwalk is 2.9km long and constructed with a wooden slats and a 1.2m-high three-wire guard rail; in some sections the old crumbling path can be spied just below. There is a lot of information on the website, including reservation details. You should allow around four hours for the walk which includes returning to your access point. Note that the walk is linear, however there are regular buses that can take you back to your start point (€1.55, 20 minutes).

Mountain bikes can be rented in the next village. Another option is to go on a day trip with a vespa and see the Andalusian area from another angle. If you’re looking for more than just your average holiday and want to have some stories to last you a lifetime, you can turn to our partner Adventure Sports Spain and they will show you Spain as you have never seen it before. Kayaking, rafting, enduro and quad are possible.

Payment Policy

Booking deposit In order to confirm a booking, a deposit worth 30% of the total booking amount. If you book within a period of 30 days before the date of arrival the full booking amount must be paid by bank transfer . Once the booking deposit is received the booking will be valid and you will receive a written confirmation sent by email. Residual amount The remaining amount (70 % ) must be paid upon check-out. Other charges Meals and drinks (except breakfast) are not included in the room rate and are settled at the end of your stay . Payments can be made on the spot in cash only. In Villanueva de Algaidas are 3 ATM machines. Guests who prefer not to withdraw a larger amount of money can ask us to pay the total amount of their stay upfront by bank transfer. We reserve the right to modify the prices for meals and drinks at certain times without prior notice.

Cancelation Policy
|

In case of cancellation the following conditions apply regardless of the reason for the cancellation. We urge you to ensure a reliable travel and / or cancellation insurance . We must be informed of a cancellation in writing (via email). You will receive an email within 24 hours to confirm. In case of cancellation up to 30 days before date of arrival : refund of 20 % of the booking deposit from 29 days to 0 days before date of arrival : no refund of the booking deposit + Charging 50 % of the balance If you decide to cancel, once on site, you will not receive any refund and need to pay 50% of the cost for the remaining booked days. Arrival and departure The rooms are available from 14:00 on the day of arrival and must be vacated at 11:30am on the day of departure at the latest. Other time arrangements are possible ( if available ) , but must be confirmed by us in advance . You agree to the above conditions by paying the booking deposit.
